Stay in an authentic palazzo that combines majesty with an intimate, local feel

A one-of-a-kind boutique hotel in Gagliano del Capo, Puglia, Palazzo Daniele is a 15-suite artist guesthouse set in a 163-year-old aristocratic palazzo and former family residence. The hotel’s majestic yet minimalist interiors draw attention to the grandeur of the palazzo’s original frescoes and mosaic flooring, creating a dramatic canvas for the property’s contemporary art collection. Public spaces invite guests to relax, be it by the living room fireplace, in the spa and pool, in an open kitchen that adheres to ancient Salento and Apulian traditions, or with an aperitivo while listening to music in a sprawling courtyard garden of orange trees.

our kitchen

“This house is not a hotel.” These words are at the heart of the culinary experience at our luxury hotel in Gagliano del Capo, Puglia. More than just fine cuisine, we offer an intimate approach to hospitality created by local cooks and not an industry chef. Here, four women, each with strong generational roots in the Salento region, make you feel as if you’ve stepped into an old Italian family home. Crafted upon layers of ancient Salento and Apulian tradition, our cuisine respects the seasons and is formed using natural ingredients brought by farmers to the hotel daily.

our experiences

To make your stay as enriching and as full as possible, we can arrange for you to experience an array of memorable events. Wine lovers can be taken on a private journey to discover all the natural wines Salento has to offer, as well as the process in which they are created. Adventure-minded guests can enjoy biking and trekking in the countryside; kitesurfing and windsurfing, with courses for all levels; rock climbing; and horse riding along the local beaches. Let us lead you to a new state of mind by sharing our favorite places and activities.

our location

The small town of Gagliano del Capo, at the tip of Italy’s heel, is set in Salento, which is more formally known as Penisola Salentina. Salento retains the flavor of its past and is filled with neoclassical, Baroque, and Byzantine architecture. Here, ancient courtyard houses and buildings are set harmoniously around Salento’s historical square. The annual international Capo d’Arte is a not-to-be-missed cultural event, bringing celebrated international artists to this idyllic corner of Puglia.
